The car tore through the house
Residents say the SUV shot nearly 15–20 feet inside the home, smashing furniture, scattering household items and sending dust everywhere. The woman, who was half-asleep when the crash happened, froze as the headlights filled her bedroom. She survived with minor injuries, but the scene inside the house looked like a bomb had gone off.
“The noise was so loud, poora mohalla shock mein aa gaya,” a neighbour told our reporter. “We thought an explosion happened. When we ran inside, the car was literally next to the old lady’s bed.”
Another resident said the driver didn’t say a word.
“He stepped out, looked around once, and fled. Bas bhaag gaya,” the neighbour added.
Police suspect distraction or drunk driving
On information from local people, police reached the spot and started investigating the case. In the preliminary enquiry, officers suspect the driver may have been drunk or using a mobile phone while driving at high speed, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
The house’s iron gate was completely destroyed, and many household items were damaged beyond repair. The family is thankful the woman escaped with only minor injuries — a few seconds or a few inches closer and this story could’ve turned into a tragedy.
